Irritates the hell out of me.....
Australian businesses are extremely poor at meeting customer demand.
I am looking for something I would have thought to be an absolute no brainer...a router lift and router motor.
Clean, accurate, slips into a table. Something like the incra mast-r-lift and the porter cable router motor.
Can I find a SINGLE motor? No. Dead ends everywhere. I can barely get the guys who sell the lifts to sell me on.... Nope, outta stock, six weeks.
I can't even get one from the US as the voltages are different.

You should have gone to Bunnings and spoken to one of those people you mentioned yesterday in your reply to Colbra.

Just letting my Black Wolf flow.
You know, half the problem is actually getting businesses to sell to you. It is as if they are deliberately putting up barriers to drive you away.
Bunnings, man, those clowns REALLY push my buttons!

Dewalt sell a version like this where you can take the body out of the housing in Aus, I have mention it on here before but people mention it may not be powerful enough as a router mounted under the table. I have looked into this before and have decided to go with the 2400w Triton and triton table as this seems the simplest way for me to get the functionality i want.
Its unfortunate we cant do something about the power conversion when purchasing from the US

Stuff 'em all.
If you want 240 volt tools and the local distributors won't stock the model or even type of tool you want, try the UK online tool shops. The UK is 240 volts and the same AC frequency as us for mains voltage so any UK tool will work once you change the plug - indeed a lot of UK appliances come without the plug attached at all, or did a few years ago. And DeWalt, Makita etc all sell their products in the UK as well as the US. Prices are competitive as is postage.
The UK does however, use 110 volts on job sites, so make sure you are getting the 240 volt version.

But then we need to get a sparky to change over the plug yeah? I dont know how to do that myself
Anyone know of a UK based forward shipping company so we can buy tools from UK websites?

Changing the plugs is the easy bit, I've cut the end off enough extension leads with the hedge trimmer to know
