    Default larger bearing

Okay asking the gurus for help. Is it possible to put a larger bearing on a bit like this...? I am wanting to only have the bead produced on already rabbeted (curved) battens around 20mm edge depth. There will be a rabbet in the centre leaving two 'tongues' of a few mm each at the top and bottom of the edge...(am I making sense here ). So the endge would look sort of like an "I" where I want to round over the top and the bottom.

The bit I am thinking of would be one like this but I only want the roundover to cut so I need a larger bearing to replace the existing one, is this a straightforward process. The timber battens will be curved as in a serpentine chest.

you might be able to get a bearing with a suitable od,
otherwise you need to press a suitable bush on the outside of a bearing
I'd loctite the bush so it doesn't come off

You might want to have a look in the carbi-tool cattledog, they have a whole host of bearings for router bits that are available separately.

    Easy as.
I have the set that Martink is referring to - just a matter of undoing the nut, swapping the bearing, doing up the nut again. Do it all the time on rebating bits, same bit, different bearing to give the required rebate.

Thanks for replies. I'll check out the Carbi Tool gear - sound like they might be what I need.

    Cheers.
