    Default Looking for 2" O.D. x 1/2" I.D bearing for pattern bit

I am trying to source a bearing to use with a 2" diameter router bit (CMT 870.503.11 panel bit) so it acts as a pattern bit mounted in a router table. The bearing needs to be mounted on the 1/2" shaft under the cutter so I'm looking for a 2" O.D. x 1/2" I.D bearing.

The CMT Grand Rabbet set has a 2" bearing (actually an aluminium cylinder with two bearings mounted in it which would be perfect) but the bearing I.D. is less than 1/2" so it won't work for my application. After much searching I can't find any 2" O.D. x 1/2" I.D. bearings or bearing/cylinder combos for this or any other application.

Is anyone aware of a source for such a thing? Failing that any advice on people/businesses who could machine an aluminium cylinder suitable for this application into which more modest 3/4" O.D. x 1/2" I.D. bearings or similar could be mounted would be much appreciated. I am located in Annandale in Sydney's inner west.

    Thank you for reading.

Could you use a bearing with a 1" bore and have a sleeve made and pressed into it? 1" x 2" x 1/2" seem to be readily available as R16. The other option would be to use an R8 which has the 1/2" bore and have a sleeve machined to fit on the outer race.
Imperial bearings are fairly difficult to get in many sizes now in Australia, but what you are after isn't standard bearing design even if you could get imperial.

The diameter of a CMT 870.503.11 panel bit is 1-49/64" - https://www.amazon.com.au/870-503-11-Router-64-Inch-Diameter-2-Inch/dp/B00FATEKSE. A 2 inch bearing on the shaft guiding the stock wouldn't allow the stock to approach the cutter so I guess you're using a template that's smaller than the finished item to guide the bearing on. Can you use the fence in lieu of a bearing?

aldav - Thank you for noticing my error. I actually got the part number wrong. It should be 870.501.11 so the 2" is still correct. The reason for wanting to use a bearing rather than fence is the parts being routed are irregular curves with both concave and convex sections.

Treecycle - I had not considered using a sleeve on the inside of the bearing rather than the outside as I didn't look past the design of the CMT and other brand rabbet bearings which use sleeves. Thank you for the idea. I'm much more hopeful of finding a suitable flange bushing for use with a 2" x 1" bearing like the R16. To Google I go...

Ahh yes, curves! I'm currently musing over building a jig for the router table to deal with some curves myself. And they're regular curves, not irregular. Good luck with finding a solution, sounds like Dallas (Treecycle) might be on the right path.
