TGA Triton guide bush kit
Just want confirmation I'm on the right track. I want to set up my TRA001 and MOF001 to cut some dovetailed grooves with a template I made. I reckon I can buy one guide kit and fit a larger bush to the TRA001 to hog out most waste with a straight bit then use a smaller guide bush and dovetail bit in the MOF001 to finish the edges. Does that sound right?
Cheers

If you want to have both routers set up at the same time you will have to have an adaptor plate for each as you only get one plate in the kit.

hmmm that was what I was stumbling on. I thought the kit had both the big plate for the big router and the small plate for the MOF
That's what I thought Stu was getting at here but maybe the contents changed or I misunderstood...memento mori

Check it out I could be behind the times I bought my kit when there was only 1 size Triton router.

Maybe buy two generic router baseplates; both Carba-tec and Timbecon sell them. A pair of them could be cheaper than a single genuine Triton item. I'd ask first though to make sure they'll fit the Triton; Carba-tec should be able to tell you.

Good idea I'll ask tomorrow, but I thought this wasn't too bad a price... if it does what I want...

Not sure if you are aware that Car-I-Tool have brought out a Guide kit and reasonally priced. Similar to the Triton kit

Triton kit will only supply one replacement base therefore you will require a new base

Mic-d, I have read through this thread, including the link that you followed to eventually purchase the kit. The listing states that it provides a mounting plate for each specific model router, rather than a single plate that suits either. However I suspect that when the kit arives it will have a single plate.
After the GMC belly up, I was searching for a template kit for my TRA and ended up having an agent purchase and ship a TGA001 and a TGA002 kit to me from Amazon US. The TGA001 you know about, as it is what your original query was about, and features prominently in Triton literature. The TGA002 is an adaptor for PC type (brass) template guides to TRA routers, basically the TGA001 kit with a PC guide adaptor instead of Triton guides. Upshot is I have 2 mounting plates for a single TRA, plus a set of guides and a PC guide adaptor.
If you have a one off need, I would be happy to loan one of the plates to get you going without having to buy a second full kit. Alternatively I could be coerced to sell spare plate cheaply if the need is of a regular nature. PM me if interested in either option.I used to be an engineer, I'm not an engineer any more, but on the really good days I can remember when I was.

Hey thanks Mal, that is a generous offer and when the kit arrives I'll know more. Probably would like to have a set up ready to go on a permanent basis though...

I recall them at the woodwork show for about half that and stupid stupid me didn't buy one.
FWIW at that time the tra kit and the mof kit were completely separate beasts, the mof kit having the winder handle and different subbase.
I bought an aftermarket subbase/insert kit for mine but have yet to fit it. I may never use it as I don't seem to do stuff that way.
If your dovetail is near the edge you can of course use your edgeguide to rough out. Just make sure your straight bit isn't wider than the root of the dovetail
Or a table saw, a few quick passes to rip out waste..
