MDF painted with polyurethane as router table top
Howdys,
Due to the cost of laminex and formica and the fact I have a couple of metres of 750mm wide 32mm thick MDF sitting in the workshop, I was thinking of just using polyurethane coated MDF as the top for my new router table. Given all the talk in the forum of using laminex and other surfaces on top of an MDF layer, is there any problem with just using poly over the MDF?
thanks

If you do, make sure you do BOTH sides the same...helps prevent curving due to uneven moisture uptake.

I have been buying on sale laminate flooring to use
on table tops. It is much cheaper than sheet goods.
I put it down with construction adhesive.
