Question End Mill bit for wood Routing ??

I live in Indonesia and after a long search I found that there's no way i will find Spiral router bit, nor quality router bit here.

However I've seen something similar to it, which is the End Mill.

Would this be a proper substitute for Spiral router bit, or I should just stuck the normal straight bit ??

Many thanks for your kind suggestion.

    Regards,
    Mich

As You know, it isn't the intended use. However, if You can get one cheaply, go for it. The angle of the cutter blades might burn at that speed, but You would not know untill You try.

    Mich,
end mills are made of High speed steel designed to cut metal so would easily cut wood.
The cutting angles maybe different but with care they should work .The problem is most routers are either 1/4" ,8mm or 1/2 shanks so this would limit the sizes you would be able to get.
Is there a possibility of you purchasing your router cutters from Australia?

I buy mine from this site and find the quality very good.

Also a search on Ebay often brings up some bargains.

We use end mills all the time at work with no burning or any other problems.

do you happen to have a preferred supplier that your source your endmills from? Until now I've purchased my cutters from super carbide tools and australian tool company on ebay.
