Router Table
Greetings....
I have read all the previous posts on Router Table designs and followed most of the "links" suggested...
I have printed out about 40 pages of various designs found on the net.....and have narrowed them down to a few good designs to "start" with...!!!
One I would really like to get some more information on is the design that appeared in Australian Woodsmith.....
Does anyone have a copy of Australian Woodsmith magazine containing the design.....or be willing to make a photocopy..or scan of it..??...I am more than happy to pick up costs involved.
Regards

Seahorse,
Yep, your right, the router table in Australian Woodsmith is very well designed. Back issues of the magazine can be purchased directly from the Publishers. I haven't got the details with me right now, but I can get them to you in a couple of days. If not, just buy the lastest copy, and there is a Back Order form in the middle of the book.
Cheers,
Glen

Yup, I have that issue, quite a few good ideas in this table.
I especially liked the use of sail track for hold downs etc.
Spend the $6-95 for a back issue, it is well worth it.Ray

Pat Warner has written a few good books on routers and router tables including 'GettingThe Very Best From Your Router' and 'Fast, Easy & Accurate Router Jigs'. The former discusses in depth his philosophy on table design. The example he puts forth is relatively simple to build, takes up little valuable space in your shed and would serve as a suitable 'launch platform for those keen to build something more complex.
His web site also has some good information on tables, fences and other useful equipment. I note he has a well reasoned review on the Triton router.

Just as an aside most of the US writers seem to have an afinity for the 'fixed-base' routers over the 'plunge' type. I thought I would try a fixed-base Porter-Cable about a year ago but the only fixed-base machine I could find in Australia was the 'D' handle Makita so I stuck with my old plunge unit.Mal
