    Default Plunge Bars

The Woodrat Plunge Bars seem to be an easy method of raising and lowering a router when it is mounted in a table. Has anyone any experience in using these?

Obviously no one had any advice re the Plunge Bars, so I took the plunge (!) and ordered some from Woodrat in the UK. They duly arrived, and I fitted them to my Hitachi router which is installed in a router table.
The Plunge bars work exceptionally well. I undo the height locking mechanism of the router with one hand, controlling the position of the router with the other by use of the Plunge Bars. Extremely fine adjustment is possible just using the Plunge Bars, and the router is then locked at the selected height in the usual manner.
The process of adjusting theheight of the router bit in my table has been made much easier.

Couldn't find prices anywhere on the website.
Can you give a rough idea of what it cost inc postage?

They cost about $41 plus $17 for shipping, for a total of $58.
Make sure you get the correct type of bars for your make and model of router (There seem to be several different types of bars, each requiring a different mode of fitting.) The Hitachi units were very easy to fit, and could be mounted so that they can be operated from either one side or the other of the router.
