Plunge router lift system
I am in the process of designing a good router table but I’m a little stuck as to how to get my Ryobi ERT2100VK to rise and lower accurately. I have seen people take there’s apart but I want to avoid this as I still want to if needed be able to use it free handed for large pieces.
Two ideas I has are from the very simple scissor jack pushing on a guided box to a top adjusting system using threaded screws linked on four points by cog and chain. <O
<O
Does anyone have any plans that might help me out in this I've got a pretty good idea on how to do it but might be missing something that someone has already come across?<O
<O
Cheers for any help<O

There are many unnecessarily complex gadgets for raisng an lowering routers.
I cannot for the life of me understand why when a simple bottle or screw jack will do the job. Even a scissor type jack. Pick any type at a wreckers for peanuts.

I know it is not what you are after but I fitted a Router Raizer to my big Triton. What a waste of time and money. If I could be bothered I would remove it and bin it but seeing it is now part of the router it can stay on and unused. Just bend down and raise and lower the router manually. Gadgets and gimmicks I have realised are just that. Just my 2cents worth.

I tend to agree with Col, if you can have easy under table access to the router by hinging the table top, as shown in my thread https://www.woodworkforums.com/f20/ro...eadout-105004/, you solve most of the problems without the expense.
