The second hand table may be another option. Another suggestion is for Rachal to make up her own table probably for nothing much more than her time. No, it won't be sophisticated, but depending on what she wants to do it may be sufficient and/or surfice until her requirements become more demanding.
If you have another spare week or so this thread may be useful as it covers a very wide range of home made tables.

Second hand tritons are probably a different proposition although I don't know what they fetch now. For a while there people were paying silly money second hand.
My routers are fine but I have been concerned since buying them that parts are essentially unavailable. This is not a disease exclusive to triton, many other brands, makita apart, have patchy support for superceded machines. I tried to get replacement blades for my remington hair trimmer only to be told they no longer support old machines. Just hopeless. Anyway back to topic if the triton breaks how do we go for spares ?
I note the jof is a little smaller than a mof and can be had on ebay $199 delivered. This would make an excellant hand held router and probably has enough power for many table applications, featuring all the nice things of the tra except power, ie through table winder, soft start, 1 tool changes. The same ebay seller has the tra for $299 plus and a mof with accessories for the same.
I had a look at the triton website. My goodness it's awful. No weights on the routers and that silly video that takes half an hour to download.
Anyone he experience of the kreg table top router table ? Is it better than the (awful) carbatec table ? As you say making your own makes the most sense but should someone prefer to buy...
I accept the kreg stuff is inelegant, but I have to say my R3 is a remarkable thing. $70 plus screws (and some clamps) and you've a near foolproof strong joinery system. It just works. I repaired an old stool the other day in no time, headed for the bin but now a serviceable workshop pondering perch.
Anyway...I'm just a startled bunny in the headlights of life. L.J. Young.
