Rockwell dovetail template
Good morning all, I need some help. I have a Rockwell 5008 type 1 dovetail template that someone gave me a long time ago, and I have no idea how to use it. I have not been able to find anything on the web about it, and hoped that one of you folks might have some information for me. This is a great site, and will be even better when I can translate all of the language.

The Rockwell is essentially the same as the old Porter Cable. I think one of the companies bought the other one. Should be able to get a product manual online from portercable dot com. If not, send me a private message with your email and I'll send you my pdf manual. It looks like a very similar jig.
The key is to get the spacings right, once that's done, it will cut repeatedly with good accuracy.

Rockwell split to become Porter Cable for hand tools, Delta Machinery for stationary tools. Parts for many Rockwell tools are still available from PC / Delta. Last year Black & Decker bought the Pentair tool group which included PC and Delta and has been combining services. All parts are now handled by the DeWalt web site.

old Rockwell dovetail jig manual?
Hello everyone, first post.
I know this is a long shot, but I just picked up an old Rockwell 5008 dovetail jig in very good condition, but missing the manual. It probably dates from around 1985 or so.
After checking through the Porter Cable/DeWalt and Sears online information sites, I couldn't find anything just like it. It does not have the edge guides in the front like the newer versions, just a couple of mysterious pins on the top and bottom. I'm very interested in locating a copy of the instruction manual before I make some serious mistakes.

Done.
Private message is usually better, as I may not check the thread for a while, and not usually a good idea to post your email address (spammers love that)

Thanks Davis, I'll send you a private message. Hi everyone, sorry for not responding to this thread quickly. I've been traveling the past 2 weeks and have been away from computers until this evening. I did bring home a few more nice old woodworking tools though and hope to return to making sawdust in the morning.
