    Default Router miter gauge system

Are these available from a supplier here in Australia?
Looks to be a simple very useful jig.

    Thumbs up Router system

There are just so many good router/joint cutting systems on the market that if we had the dineiro we'd buy one of each and make almost any joint imaginable with absolute precision.
This one is a beauty but then there is the expense.

Also wondered, if we were prepared to put the ti,e in if we couldn't design some of our own templates for use with, say, a Gifkins dovetail jig. Need to fin laser cutting or CNC macining at a reasonable price to make it feasible. Any ideas out there?

    Default Router Mitre cutting

Once we consider that we want to cut mitres with the router (Maybe we do not have a Mitre Saw) we have to think outside the square.

I have used the router to cut mitres for picture framing as an example. The reason for making the jig was I was teaching blind people how to cut mitres and I was not prepared to let them loose with a drop saw, and they had to be good enough, ready for glueing and therefore the Mitre saw was also declared by me as unsuitable (I had already abserved their previous results.)

I also introduced them to cutting mitres with the router when producing small boxes. Of course this required a completely new set up but it was completely save to use.

Another set up was produced to cut mitres on the rails for a table to be constructed. Then with a little alteration it was possible to add either a small groove to insert a 'Spline' or add a small 'Tenon' to the mitre.

Taking the ideas further it was possible to insert a 'sliding dovetail' to the mitre.

All of the above were created for people with impaired vision to allow them to complete more interesting projects all with the use of the router.

Be creative and make you own templates and jigs with the material found in the average workshop at very little expense and produce a variety of mitres.
