Hey Sam, I just bought one of these Makita routers and it does come with a standard 10amp plug. I think the copy for the description may have been lifted from the American 110v version.

Definitely a spec written by the sales/advertising dept.

2100 W is just over 9.1 A and 2.82 HP and that is, I bet, input power not what it can deliver.

Claiming that it needs a 15A powerpoint is just trying to talk it up.

Whats Bosch like?, I have one of their Jigsaw's which I love.
What it says is 2100 watt continuous power input, up to 2400 watts is applicable for a 10 amp outlet. The router comes fitted with a 10 amp plug, not 15 amp, and runs fine on a 10 amp circuit. I own this router, have not modified the earth connector, it's only ever been used in a 10 amp outlet. The 3 1/4 hp 15 amp stuff is not correct for the Australian market. Ring them up and ask them if you're still doubtful.
On the Makita Australia website all it says is that the power supply cord must match the electrical outlet.

Link to Makita.com.au website. RP2301FC | Makita Australia

Note the change from Sydney tools 12mm to 12.7mm (1/2") on the Makita site. Comes with 1/2" collet but can be used with a 12mm collet.

The GOF1600 is the only one that is 240V. The other 2 are US models at 110V.
I have the GOF1300 as my second router and it's are very nice router, very smooth and quiet.

I have (now two, whoops!) of the Triton routers, and love them. Plenty of grunt, and the built-in adjuster means it's easy to mount in a table (both of mine are). I should probably sell one....

I bought a Ryobi plunge router for hand work, but I don't like it - the springs are too heavy, so it's a real effort to push it down. Anyone got a solution for that? I end up using the (Ryobi) hand router for anything not in a table instead.

Support for the Triton is non-existent sadly and you can no longer purchase the router in Australia. I ended up purchasing a Makita rp2301fc which is an absolute beast of a machine out of and in table. Heres a router table that someone made with one in:

Gifkins at least (where my "spare" is from) appear to still sell them

    But the manufacter website

Doesn't link to anyone who seems to still sell them.
