Disclaimer: I have one of these, but I'm no expert. I find it useful because my eyes are bad, and I can still read the gauges.

I used a Kreg table for a couple of years, and could never get used to that cam arrangement that was supposed to allow fine adjustment. Half the time I couldn't even remember which way to turn the thing, and it was not particularly accurate, if I am remembering right, because you couldn't guarantee the fence would remain square. I've been using an aluminium table which has a machine screw arrangement to adjust the fence for the last year or so. (I'm sorry I can't remember the make) That does allow for accurate fence adjustment, but I still find that table a bit clunky overall. Plus, no matter how often I clean the table, it leaves black marks on the work piece.

The point I want to make here is that the best fence I've used on any machine is on my DeWalt 7491 job site saw. That has a rack and pinon that drives both ends of the fence keeping it perfectly parallel, and you can get excellent fine control with it. I would love a router table with that sort of fence adjustment.

FWIIW I use a dial indicator on the saw fence when I want precise adjustment with things like my tenon jig. That works really well, except you can't use a magnetic base for the DTI on the aluminium table. You could do the same thing with a router table fence.

I must have an older style Kreg table as mine has no came adjustment. I have to use a sliding square to ensure fence is parallel

It is ridiculously simple. It's the snail shell shaped wheel behind the man's wrist in the image. You set it to zero and push it up against the fence and lock it. Then unlock the fence and rotate the cam which pushes the fence away from the router spindle. Being American it is calibrated in fractions of an inch of course.

That whole America and Imperial measurements can be a pain. I made a sort of conversion wheel for our Triton routers. The adjusting screw is 14tpi which works out to 1.82mm per revolution. So punching a whole in this disk and fitting it to the Triton cranking handle gives you up to one revolution of metric adjustment before it all goes to pot.

I have done my research and the Incra seems to be in a class of its own.

I have a Wonderfence on hold until tomorrow..... Unless there are any new ideas on better systems I am heading down this path
