Router Table Base PLate
Does anyone know if an aftermarket router baseplate is available that will take my TRA001 and will drop into the table on my Triton RTA300? Kreg make a good looking baseplate but it will not fit the RTA300 table.
The ring inserts on my table have been a real pain because they stand proud of the surface of the baseplate despite my best attempts at sanding them flat. I think this has something to do with the way in which Triton has them fitted because there is a change after removing and reinserting them almost certainly related to the orientation of the key on the insert fitting into the manufactured retaining system. Mostly, mine have acceptable orientation but every now and then, they don't and this has accounted for me marring a job recently. Hence the need for a fix.
Drop in insert rings are a better option IMHO.
I am unable to find replacement insert rings in Au.

I dont think anything will fit the triton
I had the same problems as you have said and ended up making a table with a woodpecker insert and the tra001 with kitchen bench top material which I mounted on the triton table/stand
most of the inserts by kreg, woodpecker and incra are available for the tra001 to mount into
its a whole new ball game once you've got it sorted, keep an eye on the marketplace for fences and mitre guides etc
good luck

What Hodgo said.
The RTA300 is a good starter table as it has all the features you want; however with it being pressed steel flatness is not one of it’s key attributes. I had one for about 15 years and knocked out some really good work on it but in the end the raised insert rings got to me the same way and I finally built my own table with a Jessem router raiser and a fence system from Carbatimbecontech. If you’ve outgrown its limitations then it’s time to move on to something better.Nothing succeeds like a budgie without a beak.

Thanks for the comments and advice.
Looks like I'm either going to have to upgrade or go crazy with frustration.
I've been hesitant about building a table but the option to mount a new top on the triton stand is a very real consideration.
Cheers

Same here, had a great run out of my triton for the last 13 years but you do out grow them as your skills progress and the complexity of your projects increases. I am looking at the Kreg router table and use my triton router in it. We have a Sherwood/Carbatec cast iron top table at the wood working club. nice table but don’t like the fence, too fiddley to adjust and I am not going to bother with a lift just upset the router it self. See how I go negotiating the funds wife the better half.
