Router table buying advice
Im just getting into the world of woodworking, and have a few simple power tools the most recent aquisition being a small makita router (rp0900).
I am looking at a few simple projects to get me going, bookcases etc while I develop some more joinery skills.
I am thinking of setting up a router table to make the process a bit safer, which needs to be fairly portable as i dont have an undercover work space at the moment where I can leave any tools set up.
I am trying to decide if for my first router table to attempt to design and build my own, or i am looking at the kreg benchtop table through carba tec, but i have seen some mixed reviews on the kreg router tables and would like to know if anyone here has had any major problems.
The other option I am thinking about is starting with a triton work center and then eventually replace this with a dedicated table saw and router table when I have somewhere to set them up. (hopefully in a few years time)
I would like to get a second 1/2 inch router in future to be primarily a table mounted setup and then the use the little makita for lighter hand held/template work.
Thoughts?
Thanks
