Default Router Table with Router Motor

This thread could be in a different forum so Mods please relocate if required.

I found this on the internet Wood Working Machines & Tools : WOODWORKING ROUTER TABLE WITH ROUTER MACHINE MOTOR (also on ebay with a higher price). I have sent an enquiry and after three working days have not had a reply. One of the questions I asked is What sizes are the "3 Different Size Router Bit Holders"? I also asked the standard question re shipping.

The company (importer) is in Ballarat, Victoria so I would like to support them.
Has anyone had experience with the company or have one of their router tables with motor (or dust extractor)?
If the company is legit I am willing to risk my hard earned but at the moment the products look too good to be true.

If i had to take a guess it would be 6mm, 8mm and 12mm collets. I may be wrong but i believe they are the three common sizes.

    Or are they 1/4", 8mm and 1/2"? Or perhaps 6mm, 9.5mm and 12mm?
It could be risky guessing as the bits may not be an easy to obtain common (Australia) size. 1/4" and 1/2" are what I would call common size and easy to get at most tool and hardware stores, while the other sizes, particularly 6mm, 9.5mm & 12mm would be a special order or need to be obtained from overseas. 8mm can be obtained from Festool and I have half a dozen.

While I'm far from an expert on these new router tables, it seems like this one is pretty new to the Aussie scene (correct me if I'm wrong......and I usually am), and as such might need a bit of investigating before you go ahead and "support" a local importer. Just sticking my nose in for what it's worth. Bob

Another question I asked was, Can it be viewed in a showroom prior to purchase? As I have yet to receive a reply to my enquiry I am treading carefully. I am prepared to travel two hours to view prior to purchase, but I am not going anywhere without a reply. (I do not expect to be able to view as they import hundreds of items [from China].)

I think your main problem is that they are multiple range mass marketers rather than woodworkers, they bring in container loads of stuff dirt cheap and try to flog it off, without ever understanding what it is for or supposed to do. To the best of my knowledge, they don't have a shopfront for you to view the unit. Your link includes a pic of the box graphics, That is probably the limit of their knowledge of the product. Even if you got them to open a box to find the collets, they would probably measure them with a plastic office ruler, and not understand the difference between 6mm and 6.35mm (1/4in) in terms of fit required for a precision tool. Unit is listed as 1050W suggesting that the unit would be incapable of many table tasks.

Personally I suspect they are doing you a favour by ignoring your emails.

Sorry if this is not what you want to hear.

After five business days and no reply to my email, the company must be too busy (or something else) to reply to my enquiry.
For all they know I may have bought more than one item and then posted a positive review. Unfortunately at this moment in time all I can tell readers is I have had no response.

    Thumbs down No Reply

After 3 weeks I have had no reply to my inquiry.

If this is an example of how they treat potential customers, I hope they respond better to those who make a purchase and have need for assistance.

While this is not a review of a tool, it is regretfully a poor review of a potential supplier.

No, it's a very reasonable review of a very poor potential supplier.
