G'day RR,
IMHO, bring the lift with you - perhaps even bring a spare which I'm sure you could sell it easily as our $ [which has sometimes been referred to as the South Pacific peso] currently is about $0.64 US - this makes it hard enough but the freight charges from overseas are an absolute killer.
As to routers, we get all of the "good" brands here but we don't often see a large fixed base router here - all I have encountered over the years have been plunge type routers. To get an idea of types/prices perhaps Google routers Australia or check for the "au" on a listing - this will give you types and prices - be prepared for "sticker shock". Also bear in mind that our voltage/plugs etc here are different to the USA.
Hope it helps,
Bob

Welcoe River Rat,
Bring the router lift with you. If you've got room bring me one too, and an Incra Mitre fence
I dont think you'll get much argument on this forum that the Triton router is the best, except maybe from the festooliansCheers,
Howdya

You will find a much more limited selection of routers in OZ compared to the USA. No fixed base. Also no Porter Cable, Bosch (Blue range that is). Only Hitachi, Makita, and now limited deWalt and also Festool available. Others available do not deserve a quality router lift. Do bring a router lift with you, but make sure that the router base you intend to use will fit it.
Regards
Les

Try justtools.com.au to get an idea of prices and tools available over here, they have most stuff that is available listed, probably could be had for less if you shop around but it wil give you some idea of whats available and the price.
