Default Routers with 'Above table' cutter change???

Looking to hang a router under an extension table off the end of my Hammer combination but won't be able to get a spanner through the side to undo the collet due to the lip of the table. Are there any routers on the market that can extend the collet through the table other than the Triton??? I want one thats good for freehand work as well and don't think much of the Triton in that respect

Have you considered the 1400w Triton? I bought one when my hand was injured and I cant easily hold the big triton handheld any more? Its powerful enough for most jobs in the table and lighter than the big one but has all the triton features. It has the added advantage of above the table height adjustment when upside down too.

Failing that get a collet extension and the router of your choice.

    Hey TTIT,

Sounds like you need two routers

I'll have to have a closer look at the 1400W . I looked at the collet extensions years ago and was a bit wary of chatter and run-out and so on - have you used one with any success??? Any recommendations of where to get one if I go down that path???

I bought a collet extender from McJings at the www show in melbourne a couple of months ago, but have not used it yet. In fact I can hardly get into my shed at the moment. Its full of the step daughter's belongings. We had to take her and her 3-year old in to get her out of an abusive domestic situation. Makes it very hard to do projects though.

The 1400 w triton is pretty good under the table, just not as powerful as its big brother, but it will do most things. (I have both)
