Routing tutorials for beginners
I have produced a four part series of tutorials aimed at those just entering the wonderful world of routing, here is part one. Don't hesitate to ask if something isn't clear, preferably on the forum where others may benefit, but by PM if you prefer.

Thank you Scott, I aim my threads squarely at newcomers to routing, many who have never even unpacked their first router and many who have only ever used a router table. most of these threads end up with a useful object, like this cuff-link box. What's that I hear you say, who wears cuff-links these days, well a friend of mine does for his many business meetings and his wife asked if I would make such a box as a birthday present a few years ago.

Quick question... In photo 2 you have a coffee cup on the right hand side of the table. Does the coffee cup have to be ceramic or will a take away cup do? ;O) Only kidding good write up.

Take away cups aren't guaranteed to be perfectly round and so are not suitable for drawing around for circles/radii!.

Nice work Harry and very instructive. There will be a few copies of that saved I reckon.
Reality is no background music.

Thank you for such kind remarks. I was thinking of posting the four part series about a week apart, depending if there is interest in such threads.

Looking forward to the next instalment. As a complete novice I wouldn't have even thought about using a router to do things like this. I'm really enjoying exploring this forum.
