Thread: RYOBI ROUTER ERT241200 - Dead prefered! Parts wanted...

Hi All

Yeh I finally got a /2" Router and the Guy told me the Locking Coller was busted and he used a screw driver to help lock the hex coller!! Ouch!!

It would appear these used a one piece arrangement under the motor housing and all I have left is 3 screw holes presumably for the "Push Spindle Lock" which is missing.
I've looked at the options of getting "Flats" machined on the side of the spindle but the whole unit would have to be stripped down thats it's not really viable and too costly.
I've looked at "C" Clamps but they are also very expesive and dont seem to hold in the the shallow depth of the holes (double sided) drilled in to the Spindle.
I do have one last option left - I could make a short steel handle with a round Pin welded into the end that is the exact fit of the spindle hole. That would "do the job" as the say.

I have contacted Bunnings here in NZ and they concur the the unit is No longer Made and spares are hard to get. Ryobi NZ failed to respond to emails.

So I thought I would "Cast my Wish on the waters" of the forum here and see what may come up? If i could just get the original spindle locking coller that would be great - plus the fact of shipping over here
