sanding with a router
g`day gents.
i would like to use a drum sander on my v/s bench mounted router does anybody know of the pit falls? apart from avoiding high revs.
greatfull for any advice.

there is only one pitfall.....too fast for sanding. Don't do it.

Can't imagine a router spinning anywhere near slow enough for effective sanding, let alone safely.
Not a great idea IMO.
The beatings will continue until morale improves.

There is no drum sander (I know of) designed to run at these speeds. Expect catastrophic failure. The slowest RPM of the Triton for example is 4 times the typical running speeds of a drum sander. At top speed, it is 10 times. Dangerous at best.
