Off the Shelf Router Table
Greetings all,
I have seen some magnificent approaches to building your own router table in these pages and I'm somewhat in awe of the talent that is available in a forum such as this. So much so that it appears that making your own is somewhat akin to a jedi knight making his own light sabre. I don't have the time to make my own just now so I need some advice from you all as the woodworking intelligentsia, who produces a good off the shelf router table? I am prepared to spend in the order of $600. Thanks.

Hi LGC
IMO it is very difficult to buy an off the shelf router table for love or money. Thats why 99.99999% build there own.
At best I would get a top and accessories from these guys
http://www.woodworksupplies.com.au/category51_1.htm
however;
You know the bestest and simplest router table is to go down to your local kitchen maker and ask for a piece of offcut or 2nds benchtop with a nice formica top. These are way thick and once you seal the bottom they will last for ages.
Drill/rout a hole for the bits and bolt your router underneath using its mounting points. Grab an xtreme router collet to give you depth and bobs your uncle.
Then just add your legs, short if it sits on the bench, long if off the ground.
Sorry to be a fly in your ointment, but I'm just right is all

You had better have a look here too.
They have the complete items & several good parts for a 'roll your own'.Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.
