Default Simply cut a 1/16in thick slot

    G'day
I am in the process of making a gift for my daughter's 25th birthday which require small hinges and thought that maybe barbed hinges may be the go. The advertising blurb makes it sound so simple.

A very effective method of joining the box to the lid. Simply cut a 1/16in thick slot into the box and top and then slide these hinges into place. The slots are barbed so while they are easy to drive in, they are virtually impossible to get out again. Perfect for boxmakers that have a lot of boxes to join together. Each hinge measures 16 x 22mm.
I now guess that I need to buy a slot cutter but I am overwhelmed by the choices on the internet regarding slot cutters and am looking for some advice.

Which slot cutter do you think I should buy?

    Thanks

What shape are the hinges, a slot cutter would suit curved hinge plates, whereas rectangular hinge plates require a straight cutter.

Default sorry for the foolish question

    G'day again
    The hinges are curved edged.

I now realise that my question was lacking in context and specifics. I simply didn't know enough about what I was asking.

In any event I dropped into carbitool and bought a 1/16" cutter for my 12" router. Problem solved.

I will try to be a little more informed and a lot less iggerant in future.

    See ya
