Skil model 299 router

G'day All.
I have been given an old Skil model 299 router. It is a funny design in that it has a large threaded wheel that engages the treads on the body of the router that you turn to lift the height of the whole unit up or down from the base. My problem is that there is no collet or nut with it.
I was wondering if anyone has one ot these that has died and is gathering dust in their shed and would want to part with it?

Or

Know where I would get the collet and nut from?

G'day All.
Well it looks like nobody has one of these routers.
So, For ifno to anybody that may be interested, The collet from a TRITON 1/2" proffesional router fits like a finger in a B*m.

Thanks for the tip. I have an old, but still working very well, Black and Decker router that works similarly to what you described which has a 1/4" collet. I'll try and see if the Triton collet and nut fits it.

Thank you so much for this valuable knowledge.

Like you, I find myself in the exact same predicament as you, gifted a SKIL MODEL 299 router with no collet.

Can you please provide more clarity as to where you were able to source the compatible triton collet? I'd be looking for a 1/2" as well as a 1/4 " (if it's available).
