In-table router
My Triton 001 router has been taken to the hospital and I am awaiting the results of tests before knowing if it is repairable. Being by nature a pessimist I am assuming the necessary spares will not be available & I need to consider a replacement router.
With the availability of Triton routers (and spares) both now and in the future rather doubtful I would like to know if there are other routers suitable for in table use which have the features of :
1) above the table bit changing
2) micro adjustment of bit height
3) automatic spindle lock & safety switch when spindle locked.
My searches to date suggest that features 1) and 3) are exclusive to Triton. Is this so?
The most important features (to me) are 1) and 2) but the advice and opinions of others in respect of in-table routers other than Triton would be appreciated.
Regards, Jeff

I am uncertain as to what repairs are necessary or possible. I am just considering alternatives to the Triton if delay to repair is too protracted. I make a lot of bit changes and particularly want to be able to change bits above the table. The only practical alternative may be a collet extender but I have no experience of these.
Freud routers are not available in Australia to best of my knowledge.

I tried to order spares for my Triton TRA001 router last week ,I was looking for some brushes , a new 1/2 x 1/4" collet and the black plastic cover for the top of the motor.
( mine fell from the table while trying to undo the collet nut).
I was told by the munchkin at GMC that they cant get spares until the GMC administration deal is finished ,about two weeks he said all should be finalised.

As it was not my sander I could see the funny side but only after making the appropriate noises to the owner.

Hello. After reading comments on these forums I was all set up to buy the TRA001. Is there something going on with trition that should make me reconsider and go with another brand? If all is ok with Triton I am also wondering what Table insert Plate will work well with it. Proper bolt hole positions, etc.

My understanding is that GMC purchased Triton and GMC are now in receivership. The ongoing availability of Triton products and spare parts is uncertain. It is to be hoped that the receiver will get the GMC/Triton business up and running again and we can all relax. There is widespread agreement that the Triton TRA001router is an excellent choice for in table use.
"Woodpecker" supply both aluminium and phenolic router table plates that are pre-drilled for Triton.
