Hi all,

I am experiencing a few problems with my Triton JOF001 Router. I am a fulltime fine furniture designer/maker and also teach for ten weeks a year at Sturt School For Wood in Mittagong NSW where I teach the bending phase of the full time course. While I was showing the students how to make a curved laminating jig using my Triton router on a radius cutting jig, the router was really starting to labour. After finishing what was supposed to be my first pass of three to get through a 16mm sheet of particle board I realised that the router had lowered itself so that I was cutting the entire 16mm with just the one cut. This happened even though I had the depth lock on tight. Watching this the next time I did this the micro depth adjuster was winding itself down even though the depth lock was on tight. This happened in front of twelve students right after I told them that the Triton was the best router on the market. Needless to say none of them have since gone out and purchased one. Now I have another problem, as I am using the router the speed adjuster is moving and slowing the router down, so now to use this router I have to lock the depth adjuster, hold the micro adjuster with one hand and the speed butten with the other hand which makes it a real pain to use. The router is only about 18 months old and really does not get a lot of use.

Has anyone else had problems with this router or did I just luck out. Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Darren
