My dust collection journey continues. Having recently taken delivery of some Clearvue 6" blast gates, (bloody snazzy looking jiggers !) I started work on the jointer.

Fortunately most of the hard work had been done by my grandfather, so underneath was some tin panel work that was originally designed to let the chips fall out the outfeed end into a little box that would then be emptied. So I made a panel from some 19mm MDF.

The opening in the stand wasn't large enough to take a 6" round fitting, so I bought a rectangular to round down pipe adaptor from Reece's. This was attached with PVC glue, and the inside chamfered over for improved pickup.

I had to modify a piece of PVC to slip inside the 6" flexy.

Then up to the roof to the 6" mainline to the DC.

To be honest, the flow is not quite as good as it could be. I could get a little more if I opened up the tin floor on the infeed side to create cross flow, but the performance is superb ! Just love it ... Hardly a spec left after machining some pine offcuts.
