    Default 150mm to 80mm

So I'm going to have 150mm DWV coming down the wall for a dedicated bandsaw outlet. It's 80mm below the table, can not be made bigger.
    Should i

    1) blast gate up at head height, then try and reduce 150 to 80, and like 2m of flex hose at 80..... Or

    2) bring the 150 DWV right down near the bottom behind the saw, blast, reduce, and just a short piece of flexy.

Just getting the reduction done neatly with a blast a n d tieing in Dwv to woodwork fixtures is a bugger.

    Ideas......

    Thanks

With band saws, one port (of any size) is not enough to grab all the dust and the ones supplied by the manufacturers are usually rubbish.

The typical approach is to split one 6" into 3 x 4" ducts and collect from:

    1) the bottom cabinet - you may have to cut a port into the cabinet - and don't forget another hole in the cabinet (see grilled section) to allow air in - if it cannot get in the dust will not get out.

Here you can see the lower cabinet extractive port

BTW that flexy you can see on the under table port in the first photo does 1/5th of FA.

    2) direct under the table with a bell mouth hood like this.
This is the most useful one.

    3) Another place to put the third 4" duct is on the end of a catch tray like this.

DWV means nothing to me - presumably 150mm dust extraction port? The bell mouth port below you're deck should enclose -obviously with a slot for the blade as this is the point where Most dust goes. Mine -from the factory has a 100 port on the bottom of the wheel - not the best place and needs regular cleaning out if you believe that it works Nah it don't in any real way. Obviously a port below the table where most of the dust ends up is the point of choice and anything above will have comparatively minimal effect

DVW is a plumbing abbreviation for the type of pipe. Drain, Waste, Vent.
