    John

I only mill for my own amusement nowadays having stopped any halfway serious stuff about 12 years ago. Occasionally I end up with more material than I want and I am happy to share that out where appropriate, but it is very limited. If you had a specific project in mind, by all means try me.

If I can help, I do. Normally I would charge only what it has cost me. If I came by it for free, it is given for free. That is if I haven't already used it .

I note you are in Brisbane and there are at least three active millers in the area and probably more, all on the Forums. Those that come immediately to mind are Sigidi, Weisyboy and Mapleman. They are all very approachable and I myself have bought timber from two of them. In fact you have reminded me I have an order to place with Sigidi for some building timber.

    Regards

So, while on holidays in Brisbane, I dropped into total Eden and came away with 3 boxes of 6" fittings for my dust extractions system. I can get the pipe easily here, but the fittings were crazily expensive. Total Eden wasn't cheap, but they are far cheaper than anything else I've managed to find. My car looked like it was a plumbing black-marketer. It's amazing how many junctions and bends you need in a system.

When I get the chance I'll post my plans here for some collective wisdom and refinement.

It's not unusual to spend $150 on duct/pipe and then double that on junctions. It is of course possible to make all the junctions yourself but you still have to pay for the pipe to do it with.

You're spot on bob. I spent about $350 on fittings. Yet to buy the pipe, but am budgeting around $100-150.
