4in dusty on Triton router table
Can anyone advise how I can use a 4 in dust extractor hose with the 2 x 32mm hoses on the Triton Router table ? One hose is connected to the table, the other to the Triton Router.
I suppose I am really looking for a modification of a hose connector
regards,
Jill

JillB, while it will suck 'some' of the dust, BUT by reducing the effective air flow into the 4" dusty you will not gain suction. It will just mean that the dusty motor does less work. It clearly would not be as good as connecting it to a large shop vac. Unless you alter the hood and incorporate the full size of the dust collector pipe. eg: perhaps a larger overhead guard? Even then the way router bits send chips flying your 4" unit probably will not catch the chips perfectly. As they are high volume low pressure and you need high pressure low volume, if you know what I mean.
This is not to say that will not work, just don't expect too much.
Hope this helps.

GMC used to include an adapter with their 1 hp dust collectors that looked like a cow's udder with only 2 teats, so it should work, just not very efficiently as said above.
You should be able to make a simple adapter by drilling some holes in a wooden block, then wrapping the ends of the pipe in duct tape for a neat fit. Come to think of it, you could also make a 'plumber's nightmare' out of PVC fittings - again plenty of duct tape.

What bsrlee said.
Because it's not a streamlined airflow there'll be a bit of turbulence. But not enough to matter if you're choking the DC by only running 2x 2" pipes off it.
Really you want four 2" ducts running off that adapter so the DC doesn't choke, even 3 would be better than just two. You could run one under the table, one to the upper guard, one at the end of the table - to catch the dust that blows that way when rooting trenches - and have one free for just "vacuuming the table" between pieces.
