Brought one on Thursday great unit well made needed it for my GMC router table. I was looking for a connection to fit between the hose and the table. Spent a lot of time at the local plumbing supplies, not luck.
Went to Burnings with the better half, while walking along, she come up with the perfect solution, the rubber fitting that goes on the toilet bowl that the cistern pipe comes down too, is a perfect fit on the router fence. The 38mm fit perfectly onto the vac hose, for $2.60 a great win,
Hopes this helps others to save time looking.
Cheers

My pleasure, I know how frustrating it is to match up various fittings. I have also with 2 other piesce fitted a similar unit to my CT BAS 250 ban saw. All up for the 2 units it cost $20

G'day Gunado,
Thanks for the great tip.
I am gonna try it on my Makita benchtop thicknesser because the dust hood from Makita has an odd size.
Did you have to remove the step-down adaptor at the end of the hose to fit?
I am curious because I know the step-down adaptor fits directly into the circular saw. Just wondering if I have to remove it to fit the rubber fitting.
Also, for those looking for a longer hose, I saw the Big B has Ryobi brand 2.5m 25mm & 3.5m 38mm hose Ryobi that I think will fit nicely. Cost about $30 and $45 respectively though.
Not sure, but I think their 30L vacuum bag should fit as well. Pack of 3 for about $12.
Cheers mate

Thanks Gunado.
FWIW I'm told that the rubber ring that seals at floor level is called by experts an elephant's foreskin ;-}Cheers, Ern

Gunn, the step down fitting on the hose on the vac is aboud 40mm OD, so it fits straight into the rubber fitting nice and tight. The ruber fitting are a stadnsd size but they have a 38 & 50 mm pipe opening.

rsser,
the fitting is not the one on the floor, but the rubber fitting that goes on the toilet bowl that the cistern pipe comes down too for the water when flushing.

Ern, the Big B has a Ryobi brand step reducer for about $9.
You're right on the money mate. It is the "Fix a loo" brand and it fits the vac's nozzle and my dust hood like a glove.
I measured the Ryobi hoses and the measurements I quoted are internal diameters. For the 38mm ID hose, the OD is about 50mm while the 25mm ID hose has a 38mm OD.
I took the vac's inlet connector, with the hose removed, with me and it fits the Ryobi vac's inlet. So, these hose will work out of the box. Hope this will help those looking to extend or "upgrade" their hose.
I am considering running the 38mm ID hose for use with my benchtop thicknesser while using the included hose for my circular saw & other power hand tools in the future.
Still haven't found the Shopvac bags and might give them a call & drop-by their office next week.
Cheers
Gunn

G'day mates,
For those looking for Shop-Vac bags (per Groggy's original thread https://www.woodworkforums.com/f200/h...tml#post766115), I got mine for $21.95 (part no. 90662) directly from Shop-Vac at Hallam.
I bought a washable HEPA filter (part no. 9155800) as well, for $39. At the same time, I tried out and bought their 64mm hose (part no. 0196296). It is only 1.2m long and I am going to use it with my benchtop thicknesser, so that won't be an issue.
They do sell a 64mm to 32mm converter as well.
I can confirmed that they all fit because I brought my vac along with me.
Hope this will be helpful.

Good info, thanks Gunn.
I suspect you'll need every bit of the bigger hose with your thicknesser. Those things generate a sh*tload of shavings.Cheers, Ern

snip
oh for those interested the hose seems to be around 35mm (same as my vacmaster 20L). The bottom bit of plastic also looks identical to the vacmaster, both the shape of the feet and how they attach. wonder if it's a vacmaster rebrand.[/QUOTE]
Registration card for warranty lists a company which rings bells for me as a former commercial cleaner buying top end german gear -
happy with mine - wasnt on display when I got there at 10.30 and no gap where they might have been - when I asked they brought one out for me and also for another lady customer -
"we don't take up floor space with these - men come looking for them"
the lady with the twins in the stroller loaded it the hood of the stroller and said my husband will be pleased

Added a "cyclone" pre-filter
G'day mates,
I have build a "cyclone" filter for my vac and it is working very well. The "cyclone" is catching lots of stuff, including fine plane shavings.
The "cyclone" is made from an Ikea rubbish bin (IKEA | Bins & bags | Waste paper bins & baskets | FNISS | Wastepaper basket) and a 20 liter drum. Ducting from vac to "cyclone" is 2.5 inch. The ducting from "cyclone" to machine can be changed to either regular vac hose, 1.5 inch, or 2 inch hose when I am using the benchtop thicknesser.
The cover for the "cyclone" is from the 20 liter drum which fits the top of the rubbish bin with some very minor adjustment of the top rim. The cover of the bottom unit is from another drum.
I still run the vac with a bag since it was already installed. I'll have to check it from time to time to see if it fills up.
Anyway, I took some pictures of the entire unit.
Cheers
Gunn

Gunn,
looks like a great system, you will have to patened it and go into production, how much did it cost for all the extra bits and pieces.
Cheers
