Should not be an issue. The fuel/air ratio in the system would likely be below ignition point, and the air flow would be more likely to direct the fumes away from the motor and out of the exhaust than it is to put it near a source of ignition.

    At least I hope so.
I am sure you are right and unfortuately it was not the floor of the workshop that got scorched.

If a DC of any kind has filters I would be careful about using it to clear spray paint vapour. There is always some residual paint in the vapour and this may gum the filters up very quickly. A friend of mine was spraying a car and decided to use his 2HP DC with pleated filter to extract the air from his shed while spaying and it severely clogged up the filter and it could not be removed.

    Bob,

Exactly. You just gave people one more very good reason to install a Clear Vue vented to the outside.

I have not used my big industrial fan in a while. It was used to clear the shop of dust (sanding etc) and spray vapours. I don't need it for cooling in summer because my shop is insulated well.

Now the Clear Vue not only removes dust very well, but also it is a lot quicker at clearing the shop of spray vapours. I open two or three blast gates and turn the cyclone on as I start spraying. A few minutes after I finish, the shop is essentially clear.
