The alan key mystery.
Assembled a little schapech dust extractor today. An alan key was included with the nuts and bolts. But I used 2 spanners a phillips head screw driver, and a slotted screw driver. So what was the alan key for?

It is a sparsley known fact that Scheppach DEs are assembled somewhere in the dark backwoods of Sweden. Obviously your DE somehow got the wrong instructions included.
What you have is a KLASEN Charcoal BBQ, Ikea # Article Number : 699.318.01
You have just assembled it wrongly.
Don't throw away that Allen key - you will need it to get a refund.____________________________________________________________

The factory probably assemble thousands of units with similar sized nuts & bolts, so it would make sense to them to just have thousands of little plastic baggies with ALL the tin wrenches, allen keys & bent doohickeys needed to assemble their entire range - no problems with getting a blast because Uncle Wang put the table saw kit in the band saw boxes.

It is probably to fit the grub screw on the key-way of the impeller. The fan probably came pre-assembled but you may need it for repairs if it starts rattling or some thing. It could be an odd size.
