    Default Ball Joints

browsing through the timbecon sale pages tonight and noticed there are 4" ball joints

there are a couple of spots in my work shop where something like this would be handy, even if it was attached to a couple of my portable machines that don't always get used in the same spot every time so trying to get the flexi to conform would help, but with plans of opening the ports up to 6" seems a bit of a waste to get 4" ones.

Anyone have any thoughts on these or want to make some 6" ones? Amazon have some metal ones but are a bit on the expensive side at just under $300

I used adjustable flue elbows on my router table. Can’t remember the price but if it wasn’t reasonable I wouldn’t have bought it

They are not totally sealed though so expect a slight vacuum leak.

I bought mine because I need a 5” elbow to set at a certain angle. When I fitted and adjusted it I taped the joints.

This sort of transition effectively expands and compresses the air flow. The net effect of this is likely to be significant turbulence and restriction to flow. Without measuring the flows it's difficult to say by how much but I suspect it will be more than a short length of flex.

Not quite sure what your problem is - maybe post a photo or two too illustrate what you mean

To get short lengths of flex to conform you might be better off with some magnetic junctions like this
