Class of PVC pipe for ducting?
I've started investigating 6" PVC pipe to use as ducting for the Pentz cyclone I'm building and I'm not sure what class I should be using. Bill suggests something, but it doesn't (I don't think) translate to what's available here in Oz.
The guy at an irrigation place I talked to today got me all confused about what I'm going to need as he started blabbing on about moisture, seals, wear, pressure, puncturing blah blah blah and wanted to sell me some insanely thick Class 12 gear, which was the most expensive they had ($110 ex. for 6m). I've been quoted $65 for 6m for another type of PVC pipe from a general plumbing supplier (JB Cameron) but I can't remember what it was specifically other than I'm pretty sure it wasn't for stormwater.
Is there a simple "use [X]" or "any of [X], [Y], [Z] will do just fine" answer here?
Cheers.
(BTW: The cyclone build is coming along nicely so far...for a complete numpty anyway )

You want storm water pipe like this.
$49.30 for 6m
Everything else is overkill.

BobL.
Is spot on. You don't need expensive pipe for dust extraction.

Post purchase update:
After visiting five plumbing suppliers around town the best price I found was the $65 I quoted above from JB Cameron and ended up getting a 6m length of stormwater pipe for $68 from Reece because Cameron's is an absolute dog of a place to try and park a 12 seater bus with a trailer and I couldn't be bothered going back there from the other side of town.
Once place was in the high $70s for stormwater and another joint tried to flog me class 6 for about $130!!!!
Not as much of a bargain as from BobL's link, but it's the best I could manage locally. It'll do I suppose.

Re: Class of PVC pipe for ducting?
Yep agree with the others. Class 12 is for high pressure water (pools, etc) and completely unnecessary for dust extraction.
The price variations on pipe is amazing. There are only a couple of manufacturers in Australia (vinidex and iplex), yet the variation in price is amazing. I needed to purchase class 9 40mm pipe for my pool, Reece was $46 a length, Plumbtec was $22!
