Default Clearvue CVMax Filters & Wireless start/stop

    Hi Folks,

A friend of mine gave me his old Clearvue CVMAX system. He had it setup at his work without any filters. Unfortunately the Australian supplier has stopped selling Clearvue products and has no filters left.

    - Does anyone know an alternative filter that would fit a Clearvue system?

Also, the system uses a VSD to start the dust extractor, that was previously located near the extractor. In my case, this will be outside in a smaller shed.

    - Does anyone know of a wireless start/stop tag that can be integrated into a VSD or another method to start the machine that doesn't require me walking to the machine every time to operate? I'd prefer a solution that can be turned on/off at each of my woodwork machines (8 in total).

    Regards,
    Raymond.

Why do you need to use filters, just about every Clearvue in Australia is vented straight to atmosphere as was your cyclone.

May seem a silly question, but how much dust is not captured in the cyclone and expelled through the vent outside? The small shed outside is quite close to my neighbours property, so I'm trying to reduce any noise and dust that might get pushed over to their house.

    You lucky bugger!

I don't have one so don't take my comments with a grain of salt.
    - From memory the filters are truck filters so if you go to a truck mechanic/supplier they should be able to help you out. Your biggest issue will probably be fabricating a housing for whatever you get. You'll need to size your filters according to the output to limit back pressure. I'm sure Chris (a member here) will provide more guidance on size if you're stuck.
    - The switch should be easily relocated to wherever you want, obviously will need to be done by a sparky. Having multiple start locations... thats completely out of my depth as my DC has a remote.

There is no detectable dust in the exhaust air and I guarantee you won't see any unless the bin becomes too full. If that happens with filters then it becomes a major issue but if it happens with an open exhaust a broom will fix the problem. I only ever sold filters for unusual sites such as rented premises that could not have the wall modified.

Should you decide to put filters on your ClearVue here are some companies you can ask. You can likely find more if you do some searching. If you are going to mount them to filter from the inside towards the outside be sure to mention it to them. Normally industrial filters have the air flow from outside to the centre of the cartridge.
