More progress this week, replacement CVmax left QLD yesterday so should be to me mid next week.
My 3 auto blast gates arrived and are up, thanks guys love your work.
i finished the ducting on the mitre saw, drum sander, planer and thicknesser and router table (Still to do bandsaw, drill press, hinge borer, bobbin sander, lathe, floor sweep and work bench duct) bloody big job this.
Hopefully next week I can get it all up and running...........then tweak it to suit

Thanks BobL, thought about that when I posted.
its coming along, my acoustic panels arrived today for the small cyclone room, once it gets fired up I’ll take some readings with and without to see the panels.

A couple more updates
sawstop connection done, I didn’t cut the back of the saw box so it’s still 100mm behind the box I made.
today I also connected my DC7 twin bag up to the ducting via a 4mtr length of 150mm Flexi to the 225mm PVC As I needed to keep working and I was wondering if it would have enough suction..............well i was blown away with the amount of suction from all machines. The furthest machine being my router table at about 10-11mtr run sucked all the dust away.
can see why the 150 minimum ducting is an absolute must for volume
i cannot wait until the CVmax is up and running.

Fletty......I did think that today, with the amount of suction it had off the saw, thicknesser, planner and drum sander I thought to myself...(didn’t tell the wife) maybe I didn’t need to spend the $5500 on the Clearvue and just do all the ducting.
too late now, I’m just hoping the CVmax is double that of the old twin bag dusty

Apart from the couple of items I had seen disappearing up the spout, when I emptied the dust collection box first time around, I discovered a few rags and tissues which were quite unexpected. Any light item near an inlet will take flight. The suction on this thing is scary and the sound and energy of the impeller at 60Hz is slightly intimidating. The interior of my Carbatec table saw was always festooned with dust in my pre-CV Max days. Today, not a trace.
I hope you'll share the joy when you switch it on for the first time.

Tuckers,
Thanks for posting your install experience... It's something I'll be doing in the coming weeks so this is helpful to see!
Really interested to hear that it was working well even with the old DC.
I'm curious about those longer vertical lengths of flexi hose to the jointer and thicknesser. Any discernible difference in suction? I'm thinking of initially using a long length of flexi before I have the chance to put in all the hard piping.

The first time I turned on my 1800 I turned it off before it reached full speed because the noise was so intimidating and scary. Prior to mine there was only one or maybe two in Oz and I had no idea what to expect and I was sure there was something wrong with it and maybe the impeller was going to exit the housing. I had a few customers who told me they did not think it was too noisy, they must have had a different idea of noisy to me. One was installed in an aircraft hanger so maybe he had a point!

Tuckers,
Here are a couple of pics of the overhead dust inlet on my table saw. It's a bell mouth hood sitting 120mm over the table attached to a 150mm pipe and positioned in front of the saw blade. The arrangement collects >98% of the dust thrown up by the blade.
