Who wants a small cyclone?
G'day,
I am very seriously contemplating buying a Oneida Dust Deputy kits from the USA, and I thought if I bought five (one for me, 4 to sell) it might reduce the shipping cost overall. I can't give you a definite price as I am waiting on the freight cost, but I think they would be around the $180 mark. Their website is http://www.dustdeputy.com/index.htm I will be buying the Dust Deputy kit which comes complete with buckets, hoses, cyclone etc. Hopefully, it is plug and play.

hi beer is good.
i agree with warrick, i reckon it would be heaps cheaper if you order the cyclone by itself and source the buckets and bolts locally.
the link you have provided is great, it even shows the accessories needed. 2 buckets, 1 bucket lid, 2 plastic flanges for the hoses, 2 hoses. and a few nuts and bolts.
i dont know what that white rectangular thing is? do you reckon its a filter?
these should all be easily obtained at your local bunnies store.
count me in for 2 cyclones mate. (subject to financial approval from SWMBO and shipping costs)!
heres a few photos of the cyclone in action. borrowed from the fog website.
regards, justin.

I have already bought two of the dust deputies. One is used in my workshop and the other I am going to connect to the central vacuuming system of my house.
I can highly recommend the Dust Deputy - Oneida supply everything including seals to ensure an air tight fit. There does not appear to be any loss of vacuum pressure and while the Dust Deputy is in the chain, virtually nothing seems to get through to the shop vac. It even traps the fine powdery dust.
I bought one at first after seeing the comedic prices that the Triton bucket was going for on Ebay.

In terms of postage costs, Oneida ship direct and i was charged around $45-$50 from memory.
I am now looking at the "super dust deputy" for my larger diameter dusty.

I have both the 2" plastic cyclone and a 1.5"steel on a 30 gal drum. They are the BEST cyclones available for wood dust .I also have their (3) 35 foot static dissapating hose, at the moment it is on special for US$49 down from $99.
Always ask the to ship by USPS Best contact Ryan Williams.
I use them for floor sanding .i use the vortex system. http://www.oneidavac.com/systems/vortex_220V.htm
Beer, you can put me down for a 2" steel d/d package. http://store.oneida-air.com/dustdeputydiypackage.aspx

Beer,
Put me down for one complete kit. I prefer getting the total kit rather than messing about sourcing stuff from Bunnings etc.
Where abouts in Perth are you? I'm in Mt. Hawthorn.
Thanks.
Mike

Delays with the Deputy
Thanks to those who replied about the Dust Deputy. I have been a bit busy and a bit crook. The freight seems to be be the stumbling block, and I am researching that some more. Will keep you posted.

I forgot to mention, for shipping the cyclone fits inside the bucket with the other fittings and instructions. In fact 2 buckets are supplied and they weigh very little. I think its the best way to buy these because you get the fittings made specifically for the cyclone and the performance has been factory tested and proven with this setup.
