Default Cyclone Dust Extraction available in Australia/Brisbane

    Morning Guys/Gals,

The shed has recently been finished and I am looking at getting a table saw (Time to give dad back his triton), will also in the future when money allows get a jointer and thicknesser. With this I am also currently looking into dust extraction systems.
With everything that I have been reading on this forum I am looking for a 2 stage cyclone, but have noticed that unless i am looking in the wrong place that we don't seem to have a lot of options available in Brisbane or even Australia.
    So far I have found:
    - Clearvueoz CV1800, $3,366 plus filter plus VFD plus postage)
    - Laguna C-Flux, $2,950
    - Sherwood 2 HP Industrial, $2,799 and
    - Carbatec CDC-1450P, $2,629 (weirdly can only see these on the Sydney tools website, but not in the Carbatec website.)
So the main question i have is there any others out there available for us to chose from?

    Thanks guys/gals

Major Woodworking in Sydney have several different cyclones as well. They all work to some degree but the CV is univesally regarded as the best. You will also gain quite a few advantages buying a cyclone that like the CV can run on 240V THREE phase which using a VFD can be powered by a single phase supply.

If you've got the budget to get the clearvue, definitely go for it.

Everyone that i know that has one, has no regrets. Just need to do something about the noise or your neighbours will.

As Chris says, they are the best unit around particularly for a home user, there are bigger industrial units around, but we're talking $5k+ price range and designed for very large workshops.

The only thing stopping me from getting one initially was height restrictions, where my DC is currently located its max height is just shy of 2m, believe the clearvue needs something like 2.4m

you really need to find out what sized impellors are in the sherwood and carbatec models. I sent and email off to timbcon and i don't remember getting a reply. The C flux will at least state that is has a 15" impellor.

I'm tossing up about getting a C-flux at the moment as i'm height restricted in my shop so i'll will be a mission getting a clearvue in there, the clearvue was $3750 when i priced it up, but i had to collect it from sydney (2 hours away) price obvisouly goes up if i wanted it delieverd

Just for clarity CV are in Brisbane, CV was in Sydney when I sold them. To reinforce the point I would not buy a dust extractor of any kind if it was not 3 phase, either 415 or 240V to suit the user as it offers so many advantages such as variable speed and low current draw during start up with unlimited starts per hour within reason.

If you accept that it has very limited ability as a dust extractor then it is better than nothing.
