Cyclone exhausting chips
I have a 2HP cyclone collector that is exhausted outside. I have had this setup for years and just this winter it has started to exhaust a large amount of chips. I have it exhausting into a small lean to that has an up and over vent. Any ideas why this just started happening
thanks

The most likely thing is a leak in the collection bin.
It only needs to be a small leak and chips will escape.
If its leaking chips then it will be leaking lots of invisible dust.
The other cause of chip leakage is letting the collection bin get too full. Even before it leaks chips from this reason the cyclone will be leaking fine dust.
Most cyclone users let their bins get far too full before emptying the bin. This affects cyclone separation efficiency.
To maximise efficiency cyclone bin should be emptied when they are about 2/3rds to 3/4 full.

If you've been using it successfully for years I'm assuming that you maintain it appropriately and have checked for obvious faults. Have you checked the cyclone internally? Anything stuck in there?

It is leaking air somewhere between the inlet of the cyclone and the exhaust port. The leak might be in the cyclone itself, in the connection to the drum or in the drum.
