I’ve finally got a silencer roughed out.
Made from what I had lying around.
As shown in the photo it’s formply with internal dimensions of 360 x 360 x 1200.
With a 100 centre layer of 50mm batts and a 50 layer down each side.
Held in with 25mm stainless mesh. Shaped lead in and out ends in sheetmetal.
The outlet from the blower is 150 round transitioning to the 360 square using some bent ply and straight sides contained in formply for strength and sound deadening.
Same for the exit thru the wall which will be about 180 x 250 rectangular.
This will be inside next to the cyclone unit the inlet and exit connections will be about 60 degree bends.
I will be able to put another layer of formply over this if needed as it’s in a 1m space between the cyclone and the rear shed wall, backed by a double brick wall to the main part of the shop.
Any thoughts before I manhandle this monster into place.
It will be supported by the bottom transition exit bend out the shed wall which will be a form ply box shaped internally with bent ply etc.
