dc-7 setup
Hi.
I've just bought a DC-7 and after reading the threads here, I'm after some further help with setup with 150mm ducting.
1. How do I connect 150mm/6 inch PVC pipe to the inlet? The ID of 150mm SW or DWV pipe is a bit wider than the OD of the inlet?
2. How do I vent the outlet to the outside?
Pictures would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

I would avoid just using a reducer or other method to fit the 150mm duct over the existing DC inlet.
If you want better performance and a really good fit, completely remove the front cover of the impeller and replace it with a new one that looks like this.
This has a reverse Bell mouth hood but even just rounding over the inside edge of the round port will be better than noting
Look here for more details.
The Generic 2HP DC
To vent it outside you have to enclose the whole DC in an air tight enclosure or cupboards and then use a rectangular or round cross section duct to get the air coming off the filters to the outside. I would use at least 2 x 150mm round ducts or a larger cross sectional area rectangular duct. Mine is a 500 x 250 mm rectangular duct.

Similar to bob i made a new flange out of MDF and glued the pvc into it with epoxy and then rounded over the edge as much as i could (i think its a bigger round over after i took these pics)

Thanks Bobl. Can you attach a picture of the outlet venting/ducting from filters too?
Cheers
