DE Outside vent to Custom Orb Colorbond profile - who has done it?
Hi Folks, before I try and re-invent the wheel here, I wondered who has tackled this before?
Looking to vent my DE to outside the workshop which is clad in vertical Custom Orb Colorbond. I did find this product which would do it, but requires me to part with about $130 plus postage. Hey, I'm a woodworker
Universal Tile Ventilators - Smoothline (R) Corrugated Vent
Suggestions welcome, cheers.

I don't think you would use something like that ridge vent you will need something more like a range hood wall mount venting kit. Bunnings have several in plastic or stainless. You have to find something to fill behind the vent facing to match the profile of the colorbond. The plumbing aisle might have something ready formed.

Whatever you use you will need to contain what ever is vented, these days you can't just have it blowing in the wind

You need a large vent - the universal tile ventilator looks too small even with the grille removed.
I made this one for the mens shed out of pieces cut from a sheet of Colorbond and just pop riveted together
Its about 400 x 600

Thanks to all for the replies and suggestions. Sorry my intro question was light on detail. Just to be clear, this is a vent from my dedicated sealed extractor room to the outside. The extractor is a 3HP double cloth bag unit with a 150mm in-take. The cubic volume of the room is about 4m2. So it's allowing the the filtered air to exit the sealed room.
In any case, it's now clear I need to consider a larger vent, so that's a great start. I am surprised there doesn't appear to be more pre-fabbed items available to fit the Custom Orb profile. Time to get busy with the rivet gun I guess.
Cheers.

Neil, have you considered cutting a timber profile as an interface between a straight edged vent and the sheeting?
Here is an example from our chicken house. Whilst we didn't bother to seal it, a bead of caulking would take care of any gaps.

Thanks Lance, yes I have done a similar fix in the past for posts running next to Colorbond cladding. Thanks for jogging my memory.

The reason there are not more prefabricated items is because the correct way to flash metal sheeting of any profile is to over flash it like Bob has shown. It is the same principle as what happens when you have a window or door opening which you can do with any sized grille
Maybe a cheat option would be a decktite of suitable diameter to maintain sufficient airflow but I suspect you will need a bigger grille to allow it to breathe properly

I bought this vent a few years ago - the louvres are hinged and open by the pressure from the DE running.
Stops critters getting inside. It’s about 450 mm square and I had some flashing left over from the shed doors that I used to stop water ingress. Works well. But it was a bit exy if I recall (cry once...).
