Draft Layout for 150mm ducting
I have a draft plan of the ducting20220128_110026.jpg
In order to go from the Dust Collector which is ground level to the truss I need to go vertical 90 degrees by using 2 x45 degree elbos is this ok.
The main run which the Table saw and the Thicknesser are on is about 5metres and the other to the Mitre Saw is around 4 metres.
I will be going from the pvc to the machinery using 160mm flexible hose.
1.) At the mitre saw I have only one Y junction, would I benefit from 2 Y junctions and running 2x 150mm flexible hose to both sides of the mitre saw.
2.) What is the minimum distance that I can have Y junctions near each other (on opposing sides), my table saw and thicknesser are about 1.2 metres from each other.
Also I will be making my own blast gates.
3.) 6 or 7 Y junctions (F to F), 9 or 10 45 (F to F), 7 metres of 160mm flexible Hose and finally one end cap.
The Dust Collector is a DC7 from Hare and Forbes and is a 3hp .
Any advice and corrections are welcome.Last edited by tomartomau; 28th January 2022 at 12:19 PM. Reason: add info

A wide radius of curvature 90º bend (DWV) is better than 2x45º bends

Ideally they should be as far apart as possible but I would not let that stop you putting them right next to each other. Sometimes there is no other way.Ideally they should be as far apart as possible but I would not let that stop you putting them right next to each other. Sometimes there is no other way..

Thanks Bob, the DWS has the longer sweep.
1). Is it ok to get the other parts such as the y junction in Stormwater?
2). The inlet for my dust Extractor is located near the ground, is it ok to run a single DWS 90 degree angle upwards to the truss?
Thanks in advance.
Regards Tony
(Edit, question answered in previous post)

Yes to both questions.

this may be a very dumb reply but from your drawing your Y pieces are facing away from the air/dust flow, I presume this is just the way you drew it. But I learnt the painful way of inadvertently placing one Y facing the wrong way and having trouble removing dust from it.
Please please when assembling keep in mind for a later stage auto blast gates they are the ducks balls. You never have to think about opening/closing again.I would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds
