Cheap dust extraction units
Does anyone have any good suggestions for dust extraction units?
I've been considering either the ShopVac Classic 20 Inox for $99 or the Karcher A2004 for $98. Has anyone had any experiences good or bad with these units?
I basically want one that will attach to my power tools (jigsaw, mitre saw, etc), and when it's done to just tip the sawdust out. I don't really like the idea of having to buy new bags all the time.
How exactly do they connect to the tools? Do they come with adaptors as the dust extraction ports on my tools are different sizes, and the hose is bigger than the port?!

You may want to read through this thread.
The wet/dry vac discussed there is a ripper, I didn't buy mine in Aldi at the time, but got one off Ebay. I have the cheap Shopvac but after vacuum up a hot coal from the wood fire and filling the place with smoke had to get a new pleated filter cartidge, didn't want to spend the $56 that Bunnies wanted, so paid $40 + delivery for a refurbished new Taurus unit instead. It is far superior to the Shopvac, with much better attachments and best of all it takes the 54mm hose from the Shopvac as well that attaches to my router table.
The stepped adapter that comes with it fits most of my power tools, with the exception of 2 Ryobi sanders I picked up cheap recently, but found a vacuum attachment in the local tip shop that solved that problem
I would recommend this unit.

We have a shopvac 20 Inox attached to our Festool Kapex saw. It must be the loudest appliance in our workshop! They work fine, they are cheap, but really loud.

I've picked up cheap Vax2000 units from the Recycle centre for $10-$20 each. Just an idea if you have access to this sort of place.
