Ducting path/location

I'm hoping to get some ideas/advice from the collective brains trust. I'm at the point where I need to start running my duct work, and I'm not sure what the best configuration would be. I'll start off with a sketch of my shed layout.

A bit of an explanation of what's what.
The solid blue line is the 6ft paling fence.
The dashed blue line is a retaining wall starting at 2 sleepers high in the SE corner running up to 3 sleepers at the SW corner and continuing down the western side at 3 sleepers high.
The dashed green lines are the portal frames of the shed.
There are 2 x roller doors and a PA door in the north wall, 2 windows in the western wall and 2 in the southern wall.
The tall storage in the SW corner is yet to be built. Everything else is in place.
The only things not shown are a 12" bandsaw and a 16/32 drum sander. Both are on mobile bases.

The modified 2hp dusty is shown in its preferred location between the southern wall and the retaining wall.
The photo below shows approximately where the ducting would come through the wall (red circle) at 45° until it reached a height where it could be levelled off at the underside of the portal frame.

As I said, this would be my preferred location of the dusty, but I see it creating a few issues with the thicknesser, table saw, scms and chisel mortiser all being in such close proximity. The other conundrum is that if I bring the ducting to the centre of the shed and run a trunk line east-west, the it will basically need to double back on itself to get to the jointer.
Another consideration of this position is that the fine dust that is not contained by the filter will be airborne right between the 2 windows in the south wall which means they will have to remain closed.

My alternative position of the dusty would be inside the shed between the 2 tall storage cupboards on the SW corner. This would allow venting straight out the window and make running the trunk line and branches to the machines a little more "flow friendly". It is understood that this will need to be contained in an airtight enclosure. The only real downside to this, other than the time and materials to build an airtight enclosure, is the loss of storage space which I desperately need as I have too much crap. The position of the bandsaw and drum sander can be anywhere, keeping in mind that at times I may need to have room to run long materials through. More likely the sander than bandsaw. I am probably just as happy to move the bandsaw out side when using it, as it will probably see quite infrequent use.

Ok, so here's what I had in mind. I was going to hold off posting these as I wanted to see some other opinions in case I influenced someone else's ideas.

The first is with the dusty in my preferred position. My concerns with this one is the 90° bend almost straight out of the Y junction to get to the jointer, and the fine dust close to the windows outside.

The next one is the alternative position. Concerns here are the loss of storage, which I need, and the TV was going to go over the top of that window so I could watch the cricket.

The thicknesser and table saw would share a single dropper from above, and the sander could possibly share the same dropper and use the table saw as an outfeed table.

OTOH this will be made up by the fact that its very close to the DC.

and the fine dust close to the windows outside. .

Presumably you will keep that window closed?

Thanks Bob. I had considered that the jointer was closer to the dusty in that configuration, and was just wanting someone to back up my thoughts. As far as the windows go, I will have to keep them closed unless I want to build an airtight enclosure outside and vent it above the roofline. I really don't want to do that, but it is always an option.

dusty outside on SW corner, not either side right on corner.

pipe comes in along south wall, (drop down to jointer) then 88* turn left along where you have drawn it to SCMS, table saw etc.

Put a floor vacuum in somewhere, I did(2 of them) although thought I was stupid when doing so but oh man so much fun, crap/dust/stuff on the floor, turn dusty on, open floor vac blast gate, sweep in that direction,, bye bye sweet fly.

I would go with something along the lines of Bob's red choice, your preferred or a blend of the two.

I could be wrong but believe the 2hp modified might be a little light to be ideal and understand if power restrictions or something else plays a role in its selection. The upside of having it located at the south end is that if you wanted to you could get a bigger DC where you would have to remake the cabinet if it was located on the inside of the west wall. If the winds are strong out of either the east or west you could work with the upwind window open as long as there are no eddies making the air swirl around.

Tony, I'm not sure of your reasoning for suggesting the DC go on the SW corner. In my head, it only seems to make the run of ducting longer. As far as floor vacs go, hopefully I'll be collecting the majority of dust before it hits the floor. Whatever small amount makes it down there, I'll be happy to sweep up, although I will admit to buying the fitting for one some 10 years ago and have never used it.
Pete, unfortunately I think I'll be stuck with the 2hp, unless I can find a 3hp single bag with a 13"-14" impeller. It's quite tight between the shed and fence, and near impossible to change the second bag on a two bag collector. The window situation will have to be a "suck it and see" type thing, but the wind does tend to swirl around quite a bit in my yard.
