    Default Dust Collect recommendations needed

Hi all i have a generic 2hp dusty which i have upgraded with pleated filters while it been a great improvement i am after something a little better.

Is there anything out there (single phase and not too big/loud) say under $2K that would be a worthwhile upgrade?

    Thanks joez

    G'day Joez,

One thing you can do that's not too expensive and very easy to do, which will also increase efficiency of the Dusty and cut down noise by 1/2, is to put a second stage 44gal drum off it.

This goes between your machinery and the dusty.

There's plenty of threads from those who have done it, myself included. To reduce noise even more move it outside into its own enclosed shed.

The main things i would like would be, a stronger built unit, a solid collector instead of a bag.

If possible the quieter the better, and of course the exhuast as clean as possible. I was thinking about something like this :

but i havent been able to get much feedback on the unit .

    A 2nd stage using a 44gal drum, will mean:

    • quieter operation

    • increased efficiency

    • no need to empty the bag so often as the bulk of the stuff is collected in the drum.

Spend $100 maximum, think my 44gal drum was $40, and save the extra $2,400 on something else. A cyclone would be nice, but comes at a big price.

Not if you use the DC as part of it and make it yourself.
