Dust Extraction for my new DwWalt power saw
Hi guys, i just bought a new DeWalt DWE560 184mm power saw, and i am cutting a lot of 18mm MDF board at the moment using a 60 tooth Irwin blade, and the dust is making it impossible to work with, so i need to set up a mobile dust extraction system that i can connect to my trusty red Shop Vac cleaner, but i am not sure if the open slot on the top right side of the blade guard on this saw is there to connect an extraction tool to.

My Shop Vac has an 2.5m long flexible hose, so i was thinking of making an adaptor to fit on that slot on the blade guard, and buy another 2 or 3 meters of flex pipe to connect to the existing hose on the Vac machine.
I know it sounds crude, and i know that such a system cannot remove all the dust, but even if it could remove at least 75% that would make things a lot easier and a bit less messier.
I love working with MDF even tho it is very messy, but i am hoping to secure some more orders for my MDF furniture and if i do, i will most likely buy myself a decent saw bench with a built in dust extractor unit.
Any thoughts or ideas for the power saw extraction, is what i described feasible or not ?
Cheers

Dewalt DO make a dust extractor fitting for the DWE 560. It’s sold with the saw in other countries but obviously not Australia - in some countries it’s the law.
Sound like Dewalt Aust. is like Bosch Aust - they don’t want to know about anything dust and the tools they sell in Australia

There is a picture of the fitting (y) in the manual .

Maybe you can get it from overseas?
UPDATE.
The adaptor IS available. You can order it through any store that sell Dewalt.. Part Number N195215

Thank you, DeWalt is actually a brand made by Stanley/Black & Decker and not all stores here in Hobart sell DeWalt tools, but i was at Total Tools (formerly United Tools) yesterday looking at their range of Slide/Combpond saws, and they are the main distributor of DeWalt, so i will go see them tomorrow and see if they have that part as i really do need it, the MDF dust is just too risky to deal with.

I was wondering whether extending the hose would affect the suction from my ShopVac, but as far as moving the Vac to where i am working, yes i guess i can, as my cutting bench is only 2.5m long (the length of my 8x4 sheets) and the bench is only set up when i need to cut the sheets, and it just consists of 2x 1.2mm long fold up work tressels with 3 lengths of 70x35 pine framing placed on top of them.
I have made 3 of my own power saw cutting guides (2.5m, 1.5m and 1m long) that i use for the cutting on the tressel bench, they just get clamped in place and my saw rips the sheets accordingly.
I want to get a DeWalt table saw sometime, but 8x4 MDF sheets are heavy for one person to handle, especially when trying to load them onto a saw bench, so i would still need to cut the sheets on that bench to rough sizes anyway before final cutting on the table saw, and use the table saw to make the final cuts.
