Question Dust Extraction - JET JWTS-10 versus Proshop

Noticed the Jet Proshop and JWTS-10 have the same trunnion, but the JWTS-10 has a dust cover over the blade with the extraction point at the bottom. The Proshop has no blade dust cover but has a cabinet cover with extraction port.

So, today I decided to "upgrade" my Proshop with a homemade blade dust cover out of plywood, not complete yet but almost there.

Is there anyone out there who can tell me how good the dust extraction is on the JWTS-10 with blade dust cover and what machine are you using for extraction?

Anyone think the dust extraction on the Proshop is better than that on the JWTS-10?

    Cheers,

    Gareth

    Default JET Reply

So I wrote to JET to ask if they could sell me the same balde dust cover related parts for the Proshop as those found on the JWTS-10. This was part of their response:

TS blade dust coverv\:* { BEHAVIOR: url(#default#VML) } o\:* { BEHAVIOR: url(#default#VML) } w\:* { BEHAVIOR: url(#default#VML) } .shape { BEHAVIOR: url(#default#VML) } st1\:*{behavior:url(#default#ieooui) } "The dust cover in question does fit upto your saw. (I tried it yesterday) But the motor in the proshop is larger than the one in the JWTS-10 and this causes fouling problems for the extraction hose. You would have to remove the bottom tray inside your saw to direct the ducting downwards.

These parts were discontinued on the new saws because it was not very efficient."

    Interesting, anyone care to comment?
